What a fantastic week

Finally it is Friday, not that it is the end of the week yet...

Spend a wonderful weekend in New Forest - no need to travel far to have a fantastic break. We stayed in a beautiful hotel called Whitley Ridge in the heart of New Forest. Great food...mmmm, fair trade coffee...aaahhh, grow lots of their own veggies, and use local produce ....yummy. Perfect. The scenery was a extra bonus!

We visit Beaulieu's National Motor Museum, and saw a fantastic James Bond and World of Top Gear exhibition. A recommended visit (yes even for girls...) We were lucky to see some world war II & Gulf War army trucks, tanks, and lots more.

On Wednesday I attended a personal enhancing workshop with Laura Hart - Voice Coach. She certainly added some colour to my voice. She helps a number of people speak with " confidence, clarity and conviction" have a look at her website http://www.laurahart.co.uk/ I am looking forward to our next session!

The weekend... I will be taking photo's at the picnic in South Park Gardens.

Say No Without Feeling Guilty

Are you chronically over committed? Rushing from one task to another, with no time for yourself? The key is to have a strong vision of what you want to say yes to. Then you feel far more confident saying no.

Steps

1. Decide which activities you truly love. If you stay focus on those things, then the next time you are asked to volunteer or get involved in a time-consuming activity, just check in. If the request takes you too far from what you are already dedicating yourself to, it is easier to say no

2. Get over the need to be nice. Stop being afraid to disappoint people, and let go of the sense of importance you get from being indispensable

3. Be clear when you say no. Ambiguities like "maybe" or "let me get back to you" leave the other person thinking that you're actually interested - when you are not

4. Practice saying no in nonthreatening situations. Carving out time for yourself and your family requires no reason or apology

5. Say no to request for money in simple language and give no explanation. Contribute to the causes that excite you and complement your values. Then you'll feel confident saying "My contributions have already been allocated this year"

Conquer Your Closets

If you've kept a lot of clothes for several years because you think they may fit again, choose just one favorite piece (as and incentive) and get rid of the rest. When you shed those pounds, reward yourself with a new wardrobe.
